Meet Mr. Michael Moussab
 by Joy Okaro

  1. How long have you been teaching and have you taught in other schools before? This will be my 9th year teaching. I spent the past 8 years teaching middle school PE and Health in Cedar Grove.  Prior to Cedar Grove, I spent 3 years substitute teaching at Passaic Valley High School and Passaic County Tech.

  2. Was it your plan to pursue teaching? Since my Junior year of high school, I knew I wanted to be a PE and Health teacher, along with coaching high school sports. Right now, I coach soccer, basketball, track and field.

  3. What college did you attend? Montclair State University

  4.  How do you feel about the Newark Tech environment so far? I enjoy working at Newark Tech. Mr Ramos and Mrs. Porter have been a huge help and the students that I've had in class have been great.

5.How would you describe your teaching style/approach? I'm more of the facilitator type of teacher, especially when it comes to the PE classroom. It's interesting to see how students manage through different activities that they may not feel comfortable in. It also gives students the opportunity to interact and work together with their classmates.

   6. What is your goal for your students for this school year? I think my biggest goal for my students this year is to enjoy being back in the classroom. I don't know too many people that enjoyed virtual learning. Let's take advantage of being back in person.

   7.   What do you do or plan to do during the summer? During the summer months, I usually spend 3-4 days with the soccer or basketball teams that I coach. I also try to spend a week down the shore at Wildwood Crest relaxing.

  8.   Favorite color?Orange (comes from being big Syracuse University basketball fan)

  9.   What's your favorite food or meal?Pizza- eat it 2-3x a week

10.  What would your students be surprised to find out about you? Even though I'm a PE and Health teacher, I actually have an awful diet. I enjoy eating pizza, fast food and a lot of ice cream.
