Violene Jean-Louis is a freshman who just joined Newark Tech track and field team.  She has been participating in track since 8th grade. She likes to beat her goal times in practice sessions as her constant motivation.  Violene is a sprinter on the team.  She sprints in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters.  She also completes in the high jumps and relays.  Violene enjoys completing on the track team and finds it to be stress relieving sport.  Although she loves track and is passionate about it; she does not want to continue running in college. Violene wants to concentrate on working in the pediatric medical field.

Violene’s advice to a novice athlete is “If you like running do it, if you are willing to be committed and especially to running give it a try because when running the goal is to try to get better and beat your times and to challenge yourself to be better in the  sport and anything in life”. Furthermore, she advised other athletes on how to get better by practicing because it is the key that determines how you will perform.

Since the season started Violene thinks she actually has not had any hardship or challenges during her time on the team, she believes she manages her time wisely with school and sport and does a great job on it as she attends every meet.  Teammates will describe Violene Jean-Louis as a very funny person who motivates her peers. She is  loving, caring, always hyped, wants everyone to be great and succeed and always keep the team pushing.
